Rainbow babies are born after the loss of a previous child. I love this explanation:
“It is understood that the beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravages of any storm. When a rainbow appears it does not mean that the storm never happened, or that we are not still dealing with it’s aftermath. It means that something beautiful and full of light has appeared in the midst of the darkness and clouds. Storm clouds may still hover, but the rainbow provides a counterbalance of color, energy, and hope.” -Author Unknown
Little Miss Brooklyn's family lost her older sister Brilynn when she was just shy of 2 months old to a congenital heart defect. While Brilynn's time here on earth was short her footprints are forever on the hearts of so many who knew her and loved her dearly. While the pain will always be there from their great loss, Brooklyn will forever serve as a reminder that sometimes after the greatest storms we face in life a beautiful and wonderful gift of hope and comfort can follow.
